Emily and Joseph chose the Barn at Loveless Cafe for their wedding day nuptials. One thing the groom absolutely wanted was to get married in a barn, and Loveless has a pretty darn awesome one! Not to mention, their iconic food is an easy "Yes!" for a wedding day feast.
how did you know your wedding dress was THE dress?
"I feel like most brides have somewhat of an idea of what they want their wedding dress to look like. I kind of had an idea of the style I wanted. The very first dress I tried on I fell in love with. After trying on different styles that same day I kept going back to the very first one I tried on. It’s this feeling you get when wearing it and seeing yourself in the mirror that you know it’s the right dress for you."
"We had met at Big Bend National park a year before he had proposed. Joseph had planned a trip with all of our friends for our anniversary. We went hiking to Emory peak, which happens to be the tallest point in Big Bend. It was there where he got down on one knee and asked me to be his forever."
What was your favorite part about planning?
"Seeing everything that I have “pinned” and/or wanted in my wedding come to reality. Specifically the decorations in the barn and the bouquets."
favorite part of your wedding day?
"Without sounding conceded, looking in the mirror right before I walked down the isle and seeing how beautiful I looked. You always see your dress on the hanger but actually taking the time to look at the hair, the make up, the dress, the vail all come together is truly special. Oh yeah... and actually marring the man of my dreams ;)"
a word from the bride
"I don’t know what I would have done without Events by Janie there by my side. From the wonderful recommendations of alterations to flowers, Events by Janie made my dream wedding come to life. I feel like the wonderful ladies of Events by Janie truly cared about my wedding. I knew I could trust and rely on them to get all the little details (that I didn’t even know needed to happen) accomplished."
Any advice to future brides and grooms?
"Don’t rush. Always schedule your meetings and planning around your schedule and when you want to plan. We had a whole year to plan so nothing felt rushed. It’s a good way to keep planning and the whole experience fun and less stressful."
